BIOGRAPHY

Nisa Khan is a practicing artist from Derby, she has recently graduated from the University of Derby’s BA Fine Art programme, where she received the Cavendish Arts Society Award. Khan is currently studying an MA in Fine Art as UAL’s Chelsea College of Arts, where she shas recently exhibited her video The Browns Head Out of Town for Late at Tates online exhibition, Constructing Landscapes/Building Worlds. Khan’s recent work Nauchy Nauchy uff Thu Faaney was shortlisted for Bury Art Museum’s The Next Thing and Leeds Summer Group Show where it received an award.

 

Khan was selected for a graduate residency with Quad/Format which led to her nomination of Peer to Peer: UK/HK social media residency at Hong Kong International Festival. Summer 2019, Khan was an artist in residence at the Artcore Gallery, where she explored cultural identity and hybridity through material processes. These works culminated in a two-person show called No Matter How Strong.
